Kevin L. Stashin, P.Eng.
President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Stashin joined NAL Resources in August 2012 and is President and CEO. Kevin has over 35 years of industry experience with junior and major oil and gas companies and previously served as Vice President, Exploitation at Devon Canada Corporation. During his tenure at Devon, Kevin had oversight in areas of capital budget, exploitation, drilling and completions, and acquisitions and divestitures. His career at Devon began in 1992 with predecessor Anderson Exploration Ltd. where he quickly rose within the organization to Vice President, Operations. Prior to that, Kevin enjoyed an 11-year career at Petro-Canada in various operations and engineering roles.
Kevin graduated from McGill University with a B. Eng. and holds an MBA from the University of Calgary. He is a professional member of APEGA, APEGS, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Mr. Stashin currently serves as Chair of the Petroleum Technology Alliance of Canada (PTAC) and is a member of the Board of Governors with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). Previously he was a Director of the Petroleum Society of CIM, was the oil and gas industry representative with the Alberta Water Council and served as Chair of the Board for the Calgary French & International School.
Keith A. Steeves
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Steeves has over 35 years of industry experience primarily in the areas of Finance, Acquisitions, Financial Analysis and Planning, Exploration, Marketing, Oil Sands, Major Projects Planning, Internal Audit and Information Technology. Mr. Steeves also has experience in Venture Capital, Turnaround Management and sitting on early stage technology boards. Mr. Steeves joined NAL Resources in December 2006 as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for NAL Resources Management and NAL Trust. He also. serves as a Director for MLI Resources Ltd. and several Manulife private companies. Prior to joining NAL, he spent three years as Corporate Financial Officer of Irving Oil Ltd., Chief Financial Officer for Launchworks and ICG Propane, and enjoyed an 18-year career with Gulf Canada Resources in various business and financial roles.
Mr. Steeves holds the Professional Designations as an Accountant, CPA-CGA and Internal Auditor, CIA. He also has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Calgary.
Darcy Reding, P.Eng.
Vice President, Operations & Geoscience
Mr. Reding joined NAL in January 2010. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, and has more than 25 years of oil and gas industry experience in various technical and multi-disciplined management roles with Norcen Energy, Northrock Resources, Samson Canada, Samson Exploration and Enterra Energy. Mr. Reding is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
Cory Bergh
Vice President, Financial & Information Services
Mr. Bergh is Vice President, Financial & Information Services and joined NAL in June 2007. During his career at NAL, he steadily moved between management roles and serving as Manager, Production Accounting from October 2010 to June 2012 and was Manager Financial Planning and Analysis from June 2007 to October 2010. Mr. Bergh earned Bachelor of Commerce and MBA degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and holds the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst. Prior to joining NAL, Mr. Bergh developed his financial skills in the venture capital industry at Launchworks Inc. and Heritage Partners, a Western Canadian real estate developer.
John Kanik
Vice President, HSE & Marketing
Mr. Kanik has over 20 years of industry experience working with major and intermediate oil and gas companies as well as an industry association. Mr. Kanik’s experience is broad and includes energy sales, purchasing, logistics, business development, risk management and regulatory affairs in both upstream and downstream. Mr. Kanik graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics.
John has been with NAL since February 2009 managing NAL’s marketing department that oversees the trading, transportation, optimization and risk management of NAL’s crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and power portfolios. Prior to joining NAL, Mr. Kanik spent several years with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) managing the Association’s oil markets and pipelines division. During John’s tenure with CAPP, he successfully negotiated and managed multiple pipeline incentive toll deals as well as pipeline expansion projects throughout Canada and the United States.
Angele Mullins
Director, Human Resources & Administration
Ms. Mullins has been with NAL since 1996, where she brings more than 30 years of progressive experience to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree and Certificate in Human Resources Management from McGill University and is a Certified Professional in Human Resources. Prior to joining NAL, Ms. Mullins worked in the technology industry in Montreal. Ms. Mullins is an active member of the human resources community and has been a director for local, provincial and national human resources associations.
