Our employees live and work in the communities where NAL operates; therefore, it makes sense for us to want these communities to be healthy, vibrant and desirable places. NAL’s community investment program is designed to support the sustainability of these communities through non-profit and registered charitable programs that meet our Company’s areas of focus: :
- Education: Education or training projects/programs that support the development of skills essential to the energy industry or other educational projects that cannot be funded by public institutions alone;
- Environment: Projects, events or programs that support and enhance the understanding and protection of the natural environment;
- Health & Human Services: Events and programs focusing on the delivery of services which enhance the health, safety and wellness for communities and/or for employees;
- Community & Civic: Community events or projects that have a broad community relevance and involvement.
In addition, NAL has a long history of participation in Calgary’s annual United Way campaign. NAL’s annual employee United Way fundraising campaign has earned the Company a number of awards including the Connecting to the Community Award and the Award of Excellence—United Way’s highest distinction. For 20 consecutive years NAL has also received the Platinum Award, in recognition of more than 90 percent of staff participating in the fundraising campaigns.
